Price is everything

Hello all, just wanted to post some price configurations that l trade often. I am more or less a swing trader or range trader. They are essential enguilfing whipsaw patterns at key levels and and work well in my trading plan. I also reduce all noise from my charts as its just a distaction to me. Hope you see these too and take advantage. They occur on all tfs and any pair, Got some examples

not sure if the links will work, first time l am posting anything. Hope you find them useful.

Kind regards

Candles light a path in the darkness.

But to light a candle, you need a wick.

I am looking forward to seeing more charts and discussion about your trades. Welcome.

Some food for thought. Wouldn't a bearish engulfing pattern where the candle being engulfed also had a long upper shadow (wick), likely be more reliabe?

Price is everything

Hello, l agree with your comments, but to see the patterns l find the minimum details on the charts works best. Once identified l switch to other templates to view wicks and pivots etc. Got an example below that l traded recently

1. http://i41.tinypic.com/2d0x7o8.gif

pattern identified, switch to other template for stop placement and view other tech

Its not what we look at, its what we see

Hi Red,

I'm always interested in a pattern trading thread. Thanks for sharing.

How come your candles have no wicks on them?

Cheers

redsword11 Jul 4, 2010 4:31pm | Post# 8

Hi Enroth

I simply change the wick colour to the same as the background, they are still there. The reason for doing this is so that l see the pattern without any distractions then l switch templates that include wicks, pivots and all the rest. But the patterns l trade are based on the candle close, the body which really represents the momentum, the wicks do matter and l do take them into considersation once l spot the pattern

Kind regards

I have found this pair to be a good indicator regarding kiwi, its a headbanger to trade but l have traded it a few times. If it drops from these dtls ( DOWNTRENDLINES) it usually suggets kiwi rallies, and therefore audusd usually follows and so on. I watch this often as a leading indicator and has proven useful over the years

Giving it a go, resistance turned into support with an enguilfing candle, might hold for an intra scalp north
