yes, but i am in jackos private group so i also follow the logic of all his trades. The basic outline is exactly that. It is the BASIC outline. But he is an extraordinary trader. He has been profitable all through his trading which we see before he trades and as he trades. His trading calls are good. There is no smoke and mirrors.
Kenkomo, I am considering joining Jacko's private group. What do you mean by there are no smoke and mirrors.

It means that he does not hide anything. jacko is the most transparent trader I have ever seen. As a member, i see each trade concept from the start right to the finish. He puts out his chart positions, tells us evrything he is thinking, then makes a decision on the support and resistance spots. I get all his signals and I can trade that position with him or make my own decisions. I get to see all trading and all his results. His signal results are thousands of pips in profit.

Can you tell us exactly, for 2009:
- your biggest drawdown
- your risk per trade, in average and percentage of your account
- your profit at the end of the year

My understanding is this: Markets are the result of belief systems that create orderflow. Phenomena like S/R and trendlines are easily and unambiguously visible on several timeframes, and have consequently become so pervasive in their use, that many orders get placed in those areas.

The market operates on willing buyer/willing seller and (as has been pointed out already) supply and demand. Increase in demand results in buying pressure, and vice versa. Pending (limit) orders create liquidity, while market orders consume it. This analogy is an over-simplification,...
A top post Hanover. You are one of the best posters here lately. The place is being flooded by kiddies but this post is brilliant.

Great thread.
I really think all the indicator based systems (found on FF) are one of the reasons 95% of traders lose money trading forex. It's like trying to beat the casino roulette table by applying reverse mathematics.

As soon as a trader realizes that the basis for entering a trade is his own skill, instead of an arrow, he's on his way to become profitable.
Keep it up.

Glad I read this one.

You were right, a winning strategy is not one that is complicated like what most new traders are looking for when they first joined.

In fact, successful traders make money out of simple trading plan that most people will disregard.

I really agree. Way too little discussion about the importance of the development of our own skills as the key to our success. A way that I try to use to stay focused in that regard is to ask myself: Am I in any way grail searching, being over-reliant on "positive thinking" or seeking to learn and implement another person's trading methodology? Just say "no" to all three and stay on track!

And when taking a breather - play some Picture Tennis.

Just Support, Resistance and Trendlines.
Hi, thanks for posting this thread, this is another confirmation to my own experience, thus along with my trading performance, adding more confident in my trading.

I also put session time-constrain in my strategy e.g. only take breakouts when i see it happens during active trading hours.

And I will be a bit hesitant to trade anything when forex/economic calendar has nothing red on it for the day, indicating a suspiciously low volatility day. Hope this add something to the discussion. Thanks.

There is no Bullsh.t in his trading and his blog. What you see is what you get with the man. Read his thread here http://www.forexfactory.com/showthread.php?t=27286
