Hi guys,

To analyse Ichimoku timeframes, a really good explanation can be found here : http://www.roboforex.com/analytics/f...moku-22042016/

Hmmmmmmm, seemed like an automated analysis.... , actually far from worthwhile.

Fair enough.

I suppose what I am referring to exactly is the following, as I analyse my charts the same way on a daily basis, noting where price is in relation to the golden cross or dead cross, Kumo twist, Tenkan-Sen, Kijun-Sen, Kumo, Chinou span, and the position of these elements in relation to each other. I wait patiently for an opportunity (All my ducks in a row) then pull the trigger

GBP USD, Time Frame H4. Indicator signals:
Tenkan-Sen and Kijun-Sen are still influenced by “Golden Cross” (1).
Ichimoku Cloud is heading up (2),
Chinkou Lagging Span is above the chart, and the price is between Tenkan-Sen and Kijun-Sen.
Short-term forecast: we can expect resistance from Tenkan-Sen, and decline of the price towards Kijun-Sen and Senkou Span A.

GBP USD, Time Frame H1. Indicator signals:
Tenkan-Sen and Kijun-Sen are influenced by “Dead Cross” (1).
Ichimoku Cloud is going down (2),
Chinkou Lagging Span is on the chart, and the price is inside Kumo.
Short-term forecast: we can expect support from Tenkan-Sen, resistance from Kijun-Sen, and more attempts of the price to stay under the cloud.

Hi, is it advisable to use Ichimoku on a daily charts even with a small account of 1k? I also have some problems with stop losses and take profit settings, anyone care to shed some light? Thanks!

I used the 1minute chart to enter the EURUSD and now switching over to the 15 Minute chart. Trade as long as the Tenkan keeps me in the trade or maybe switch over to the 1HR chart - time will tell. Edit: In the 15 M the cloud provided a natural resistance and therefore I looked at the 1M for entry. Moved my stoploss back to the previous high on the 1 M to allow it to be above the Kijun in the 5M chart. Edit: Was stopped out by the stoploss for a 10 pip gain {image} {image}
hello Kinko you could just help me how you can bring the yellow line Chikou span, out front, I wish you new players do not know me, thank you very much

I have been fixing the code in the ichimoku examples I have found here. The crosses are calculated wrong programatically it is always giving false signals on all code I have used because the basic premise is wrong and even the MQL4 Manual does state clearly how to detect a cross - all of the code examples I have found on the net publicly so far are totally incorrect.

I have begun basic fixing of this after some brainstorming on how to do it, I am only running the buy signal with a trailing stop on the kijun-sen this is running dumb without any PA or Kumo checking please review your code this system is a martial art... running dumb I am getting 1.64 profit factor. With fundamentals and confirmation analysis I believe this system can be as competent as a human operating it.

I have fixed the signal system today and am further testing logical operations for trade opening, including allocation for sideways market and so on.

At minimum you must use a double sample point (checking multiple data points..) method to check the crossing - I am using 3 points to check. Just checking greater than or lesser than is not sufficient and is the root cause of all the miss signals in the scripts so far...

e.g

Up Cross...

if (Chikou25 < Close[25] && Chikou > Close[26] && Chikou27 > Close[27]){

I will be back when my system is less rudimental and worthy of sharing. Current profit ratio on buy signal alone 1.79 win ratio 75% GBPUSD H1 Chart...

I'm looking back on the graph and it really doesn't ever miss the cross - mechanically detection is perfected..if this thing can scan the entire market and give signals to traders on any security.. the mind boggles.. taking a break for now and back on it next week.

Live testing update to follow will start tomorrow session on GBPUSD and EURUSD h1...

Good. Remember live forward testing differs from backtesting. Ive been there, done that, trust me. If i am wrong you might have found holy grail, in which case i will salute you. lets hope for the best.

Day 1: Up $230. Using 0.10 Lots.

I monitor all trades and it is working as I would of traded, but a few loss positions due to my stop loss settings. It's best to have a fairly large risk to reward with this strategy it seems. Trailing stop on Kijun-sen working nicely.
