  • Johnson in the Lead as U.K. Election Campaign Enters Final Days

    From bnnbloomberg.ca

With four days until the U.K. goes to the polls in a general election that will determine its relationship with the European Union, polls suggest that Prime Minister Boris Johnson is on course to win a majority -- unless Brexit opponents can find a way to coordinate votes against him. Polls in the Sunday newspapers all put Johnson’s Conservatives in the lead. There were some signs that Jeremy Corbyn’s opposition Labour Party was closing the gap, but not by enough yet to keep the Conservatives out of power. “No one can rule out a surprise, especially after the surprise of 2017, but on the face of it, Johnson is ... Brian Martin, Analyst at Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ANZ) warns over getting overly bullish on GBP ahead of the Dec 12 UK election.

Key Quotes:
“Opinion polls point to a Conservative victory in this week’s election. But it is not a foregone conclusion by any means. We caution about getting overly bullish on GBP ahead of the vote.

The main parties are courting voters with higher spending. Labour’s radical vision for the economy could lead to a fundamental re-mapping of the private sector’s equilibrium, beyond anything Brexit could ever do.
If Johnson wins, the UK will leave the EU on 31 January. He aims to agree an EU trade deal next year. That is highly unlikely. An extension to transition or some temporary tariff-free trade arrangement would be more pragmatic.”

Mind your rude language matey.

Prove JC is anti-Jews, show one video or paper that he is.

Your brutal and vulgar language is just but a by product of the far right, in the likes of the current tory cabinet.

And if you want to know where I stand - it's none of your business!

Mashjam, like many disturbed and insecure, socially inept people; seek the anonymity of faceless communication so that their attention seeking vulgar schoolyard rants are better able to annoy rather than inform intelligent debate. One could feed his shrivelled self esteem ( as we are here) or we can ignore him and let him slink back to the silent obscurity that his present childish behaviour deserves.

Workers in the NHS asked not to be treated as a political football but were ignored. As for Boris he gives the impression of being a stranger to empathy, lacking compassion and more interested in steam rolling over any question that doesn't feed his prepared script. I used to support his party but he is making it difficult to continue to do so.

I have been a tory supporter for decades, but sadly not this time. Won't want to repeat what I said the reasons of not supporting tory, in my previous posts.....

But yes, the current bunch of tory mps are not doing themselves too much of a favour - someone just opened the lid that released a can of worms, that is all I can say.

I do not fault NHS staffs in their work at all - its the higher management that I fault them on. At my local hospital, the blinking management spent over £500K on 2 giant size donut shaped sculptures that are placed in front of the building - what for one would ask......lol

Happy trading!

Boris is not a bad guy he's just a bit unqualified for that job. Corbin is just all over the place and he is just not a very likable guy. The labor should just pick a new leader if it wants a more positive outcome.
In politics, you have to be able to make the right moves at the right time, not the same bad move all the time.

Ok ask yourself this
What parent would allow their child to go on the floor like that?
Apparently labour paid for activists taxi's to get there for the health ministers arrival.

It's a set up, but no one can say it
It's so politically charged.Thats the point...

Just for the record:
According to the hospital, the boy was discharged shortly after the photo, diagnosed with tonsillitis and flu. He had a bed, but they gave it to a ‘more seriously ill child’.

I do hope your trading is not as blinkered as your politics.

You'd have to be pretty stupid to let your child lay on a hospital floor like that, especially if he's ill.
Boris reaction wasn't good ,my guess is he knew he was being set up...

Interesting picture. I would never let my sons or daugther lay on a hospital floor because I would be holding them in these circumstances.
The mum is holding her son in the other picture in the papers so it begs the question why she wasn't holding him to make him comfortable when he most needed her.
What sort of a parent would do this ?.
