Not any nay particular logic except for the money that could be taken from all retailers which obviously are short on $index. I haven’t checked the facts, but based on assumptions and fundamentals I guess the majority of the retail traders are US dollar short.

Besides, the US economy is still going strong compared to any other economy around the world. I guess the strong US dollar is a result of several factors. One cannot look at the trading war only.

trouble is we've got rate cuts and massive QE all at market all time record highs this is a recipe for a disaster what tools have they got left when the recession gets hold. The Trump bubble continues

Based on my understanding, rolling back would be the same as removing or reducing it is frustrating that the government is using tariffs as weapon, when their own citizens are the ones who have to pay higher costs. It's like being in a knife fight and stabbing yourself to try and hurt your opponent.
