WIESBADEN – In August 2019, production in industry was up by 0.3% on the previous month on a price, seasonally and calendar adjusted basis according to provisional data of the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis). In July 2019, the corrected figure shows a decrease of 0.4% (primary -0.6%) from June 2019.
In August 2019, production in industry excluding energy and construction was up by 0.7%. Within industry, the production of intermediate goods increased by 1.0% and the production of capital goods by 1.1%. The production of consumer goods showed a decrease by 1.0%. Outside industry, energy production was down by 1.7% in August 2019 and the production in construction decreased by 1.5%.
Methodological notes:
The rates of change refer to the production index for industry (2015 = 100). Seasonal and calendar adjustment was made using the X-13 JDemetra+ method.
