Labour market statistics provide a picture of the New Zealand labour market, including unemployment and employment rates, demand for labour, and changes in wages and salaries. The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate fell to 3.9 percent in the June 2019 quarter, down from 4.2 percent last quarter. This quarter’s unemployment rate is the lowest since June 2008, when it was 3.8 percent. For men, the unemployment rate fell to 3.6 percent, down from 3.9 percent last quarter.
