  • Trump says Fed 'blew it,' renews push for cutting interest rates

    President Donald Trump attacked the Federal Reserve again Monday in a tweet, saying the central bank needs "rates cuts, & easing, to make up for what other countries are doing against us. Blew it!" The president has spent months criticizing Fed Chairman Jerome Powell for raising interest rates -- in Trump’s view -- too far and too fast. In his latest tweet, Trump reiterated his belief that if the U.S. central bank would cut interest rates, the economy would be stronger. Last week, Trump criticized European Central Bank President Mario Draghi after he signaled more monetary stimulus may be on the way for the euro ... (full story)

I remember trump screaming about how China manipulates it's currency. What a hypocrite.

Trump is just trying to bully the Fed into giving him a low dollar to help reduce the impact of his trade war tariffs. The fact that the market is up 350% in less than 10 years doesn't bother him. This is exactly the kind of behavior that leads to market crashes and if it happens when rates are low then that's one of the main tools to stimulate the market that wont be available.

He really is a loose cannon.

Ok u are right but the market and the highest percentage of yraders now excpect a rate cut this year they will delay it for next year this is forex and this how market makers do

Now we hear about 3 things a lot in media 1. Rate cut 2. No trade deal 3. No brexit deal the opposite will happens there will be positive negotiation between China and US on friday no rate cut this year and UK will not leave EU

Retail is short...and market makers will make money by margincalling them by going even higher, why would they go with retail? FED meeting is in 5 weeks, if I am correct...until then EU can be few hundred pips higher...and then they can go short when retail has given up and turned long.

It's not logical for 95% of the markets trade against 5% of the markets and move the markets hundreds of pips.

We don't know what the real numbers are, wikipedia is meaningless when it comes to information from forex brokers, who can't be trusted with what they share.

And what did you mean by 5% of the market moving the price by hundreds of pips? 95% of the market, in this scenario, would be responsible for the move, not the minority retail.

I believe that your opinion is that the market makers go opposite to retailers on purpose and my point is that I don't think that they care at all what the retail traders do because they are so small part of the whole market.

Of course its not that simple and doesn't happen with every trade. But you have to agree that the majority of retail is mostly on the wrong side and MMs take their money.

I can agree on that but I believe that also many institutional traders and market makers are often on the wrong side. The big players would not live just by ripping off the retail traders.
