Yeah thats what. They are saying its all time high in AUD$ terms not in US $ terms.
Imagine for one second if authors from every country compared every commodities relative price to that countries currency, and posted the associated articles in a world forum--absolutely ridiculous, just like the headline! When the author goes to buy Gold she will be paying the USD price not the AUD price, which btw isn't even shown in her supporting chart--again ridiculous. Give me one good reason why anybody (that has been trading Gold for the past 7 yrs or more) would read past that headline?

The person will pay with whatever currency they want. The price of gold expressed in all currency is how you can determine a bull market. Thats 101

The article begins with the words "As the Australian dollar" which is also shown under the headline immediately above the box you typed your reply in, so you start by replying to an article that you haven't bothered to read even the first sentence of, then you do it again, then you demonstrate a failure to understand a basic principle of commodity trading. So, to answer your question, the reason anyone would read past the headline is so they don't embarrass themself the way you just did three times.

A headline that reads "Gold Price at ALL Time Highs" doesn't merit reading past because it is ridiculous. Again, is the author going to buy gold with AUD? Not in the next 20yrs at least, I would imagine. Her corresponding chart isn't even in AUD lol

I wonder why the author stated what she did in the headline yet used the USD chart LoL; or why not show both charts? The headline of the article is sensationalism and ridiculous, and doesn't merit reading past, given one has been trading and/or following gold closely for the past 7 yrs. I rest my case.
