Well look again because the market tends to arrange it so you are not looking well when it moves - I am with @ Bakker - looks down to me - besides lets assume a strong up trend even now in the $ and no reversals or even major retraces on hand that we might objectively suggest is imminent. That does not change the fact price is still non-monotonic and to go higher it must go down and equally for the other side to go lower it must go up - so given the range expired to date in the current trend it is not at all unreasonable to allow for a corrective phase about now. But what I mean by it tends to arrange it so you are not looking well - is for example, it might stay intensely bearish until about event time and then spike and spook everyone into incredible frenzies of all sorts only to close up for the day - everyone having shot themselves in one foot or the other in the process. Nasty this business - I say (and please lets get real - because no one knows what we are up against ever, there is nothing like being cool about it or all such crap in trainer's books - it is the chaos stupid!)
Risk on/off will be shaped very soon after Fed rate decision in about 2:15 min from now!
So let's wait and see...

Well defined. There are days when Price movement's can be a chaos,not reveling it's real direction, intra day trading to me is just gambling, because the pattern a trader is use to can end up running you out, if attempted repeatedly.

No doubt - but to be sure I use chaos here strictly in its mathematical sense. In that sense the system is viewed not as "chaotic" in the common meaning but one that has equilibrium everywhere unstable and is underpinned by a fractal structure. A good example of a chaotic system is the Logistic Map in mathematics (google to see how similar to the market in 2D it is). A formal understanding of chaos is important for the properties of price fluctuation it highlights and for the fractal structure of the market it explains. Not trying to be pedantic but pointing you to an important source of understanding about market behaviour that is not currently much understood by the mainstream and which is of profound interest to me and which I have studied and focused upon in the last 13 years. BTW: Chaos theory and fractal geometry combine to show that trading does not have to be a gamble at all. That of course does not dispute the unpredictability of markets and or the difficulty of sustaining wins - it is the road map to getting there (i.e. stable wins) that it allows that can be different and far more effective from employing the precepts of complex dynamical systems.

The idea of the ignore button as I understand it is to keep members to whose views you are averse out of sight. Now think about how pathetic it must be that a member deploys the said device purportedly for the stated purpose without (provocation); but then circumvents it routinely by signing out of his account, reading posts he claims he wants to avoid as a guest, and reentering as himself to comment to no end at all on the same views to which he not just claims aversion but has supposedly "acted" to avoid? Shadows are just that shadows - moved according to the angle of the source of light on the substance.

On the contrary, the purpose of the ignore button is to ignore time wasters and annoying people. There is no indicatoin SB read your post. On the contrary, he simply implies to ohakaba it will be HIS time he wastes putting time into investigating the (trading) processes of a con artist with no trading track record, but who returns to FF after being banned, for the purpose of using it as his own personal recruitment centre.

I've got a different view about day trading, similar to some great traders of the past but very different to a few very bright people on this site, not meaning to be sarcastic at all. I also have a degree in economics but never ever try to applied it to trading. I try to keep it as simple as can be; I watch the charts, look for a signal and enter when the formation of candlesticks is in place. I usually get one or two trades per pair per day, which is more than enough to earn a very good living. So back to my view, you don't need to explore the merits of why the market is performing in some way or another, that's totally irrelevant EXCEPT if there's major data or announcements to be made, during that time I sit on my hands and wait for the market to calm down. Afterwards its the same old routine i.e wait for a formation and signal that comes with it.
