  • Brexit showdown: Rees-Mogg demands May stands up to EU to AVOID ‘humiliation size of Suez'

    From express.co.uk

JACOB REES-MOGG will hold crunch talks with Theresa May this week urging her to stand up to Brussels after she agreed to allow the EU to maintain control of fisheries policy until the end of 2020.The Eurosceptic MP, who is chairman of the European Research Group of pro-Brexit Tories, will lead a delegation to Downing Street in a bid to ensure that the government does not make too many concessions when it comes to negotiating the UK’s final deal with the EU. "FOLLOW THE MONEY"?) Mr R-M derives almost quarter of a million £ a year in direct income from his continued interest in his hedge Fund business in Emerging Markets. Somerset Capital was founded by Mr R-M in 2007 as a specialist Global Emerging Markets investment management firm and both he personally and his company stand to profit substantially from a hard Brexit.
However sympathetic I am to Brexit, Mr R-M is a totally compromised voice in this dialogue.

These days it seems that half of the MSM output is focused on this sort of thing. There have been some significant reveals in the UK in recent years .... gotta keep the momentum going until something else comes along.

Well thats reasonable. He·ll just have to trade in his E100,000+ MEP salary for his 80,000+ MEP annual pension from EU for life. No end to that mans sacrifice.

He has done a great job for the UK, so going without his EU €95K salary and £120K EU expense account (no receipts required) and having to fall back on his EU pension is indeed a sacrifice

whichever way you look at it losing a 95K salary is a relatively small sacrifice to make for going down in British history

The sad thing is that fishing communities will not share and over fishing was the biggest problem which the EU corrected, albeit to the detriment of many businesses. Now that is over and greed will prevail.

Human Rights? Aquatic Rights surely - then they can encompass a whole new area of anything pertaining to water (including all inhabitants, occupations, sports, transport,) more control. They could even set up a new court called the ECAR to inflict even more judgement, employ another army of eurocrats. Maybe they could build a floating 'Island' to house it on and move there for a month at a time. It would be more like a floating hotel than anything else. Perhaps they could get one of the cruise-line companies to oblige with that? Of course, having picked up all the cronies officials, they would need to set sail for somewhere exotic. The food would have to be excellent, as would the entertainment... oo la la! (Perhaps Silvio Berlusconi would be just the man to take on as entertainment commissioner? He knows a thing or two about parties?)

Yes he may give up his EU salary and won't be able to swindle the EU expenses account anymore after paying back £35,500 in "misspent public funds". He is still a "Shameless Hypocrite" who will receive £73,000/year EU pension.
