    The prime minister, Malcolm Turnbull, has confirmed that Australia has won a reprieve from the United States’ global steel and aluminium tariffs, after the US president, Donald Trump, earlier tweeted that he and Turnbull were working on a “security agreement” for an exemption. In a post on Twitter, Trump had said he was negotiating directly with the Australian prime minister. “Spoke to PM of Australia. He is committed to having a very fair and reciprocal military and trade relationship. At first I thought this is a good news for Australia. But after reading the whole article I am not so sure.
Start with 1000$. Increase by 3% every day. After one year 2 213 314$

i have shorted the AUDUSD in friday night
the trade is still opened
what is the confluence of these news on my trade ??

Not much of an impact actually, as it is still unclear how the targeted countries (China in particular) will respond. However, as far as I am informed, in case China’s economy encounters problems due to US import tariffs, this will impact Australia negatively as well. I think in the long run Australian dollar will fall and this is what the Australian government wants too.

I wish they just come out and say it the tariff is only targetting Germany and China, the two countries that Peter Navarro, the architect behind all these tariff idea hates the most so we can be spared of the tedious exemption list.

Anything happening in China will have an impact on AUD as well. That's known for sure. Bad news for China are bad news for Aussie.
