  • Russian PM: "The U.S. Just Declared Full-Blown Trade War On Russia"

    From zerohedge.com

Several hours after President Trump officially signed the new Russian sanctions into law - despite his reservations and his statement that while he favors "tough measures to punish and deter aggressive and destabilizing behavior by Iran, North Korea, and Russia, this legislation is significantly flawed" - Russia has responded, and moments ago, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said on his FaceBook page that any hope of improving Russian relations with the new US administration are dead, that the Trump administration demonstrated complete impotence "in the most humiliating manner", transferring ... Trade war means usd up. But even with the trade war, it will not be as strong as the tapering in euro that is about to come.
1.2 is inevitable but i believe switching to EURCHF will give us better price and possible profit.
When 1.2 in eurusd is reached, it might be 1.2 in eurchf too so the gain potential is higher on eurchf

After all the help they have given Trump, the Russians are feeling a bit pissed at being stabbed in the back.

check the balance sheet.. they are buying foreign assets (CHF) and it looks like a mini QE to me. This is a good cross against the EUR and even at the current moment when USD weak, USDCHF still rallies too. It is better than trying to buy EURUSD.

Brilliant IMHO, if predictable response from Putin/Medvedev.
Read carefully.. It winds up Trump, goading him personally with his impotence to "Make Deals", while same time backing him by endorsing his proRussia policy orientation. Creating an "I told you so" narrative for him for failures on issues where core Putin policy dictates he was never going to make progress anyway.
No this is a Long Game.. and Congress has prevented leverage on a weakness that Russians were celebrating as having created., by manipulation. Maybe make them re-evaluate risks of setback when continuing their next round of disruption of process of western democracy
