"UKs Davis: Latest EU Demands On Citizens Are Ridiculously High"?????

I guess he never played poker???

Sounds like he'se in the wrong job. I wonder how much he gets payed???

If you want a job doing badly, give it to a highly paid civil servent or a politician

Definition of a civil servant. A servent of the civilians. About time we read them their feckin job descriptions

Definition of a politician. An elected official elected to serve the civilians

And what about UK citizens living in EU?
Isnt THAT what a UK Minister should be concerned about?
Or WTF does being a UK citizen mean?

Good to see the Brexit secretary has his priorities right. How could he be expected to negotiate a break from EU control of those in the UK while maintaining different requirements for UK citizens living abroad.

It's BREXIT...

Im a UK citizen living in Europe.
I have the RIGHT and EXPECTATION that MY GOVERNMENT make MY security its Priority, over gameplaying with ANY economic negotiations theyre involved in.
Seems to me the EU is taking much better care of their citizens than we are.

However.. not sure what this has to do with market moving news?
Could even be "possibly a distraction to traders who view the market from a professional standpoint."

I fully agree with David Davis. Why should the UK allow European law to be applicable to EU citizens and their families should they choose to live in Britain? I cannot see the EU applying this to any other country (or more to the point any country allowing this) when signing a trade deal. The Uk has a perfectly adequate judicial system which is fair and just. Likewise UK citizens should be bound by the laws of the EU should they choose to live there. The British Government did actually attempt to make the citizens a non political football at the outset of negotiations but the EU would have none of it.

Exactly. UK law should be supreme in the UK and the EU should have no jurisdiction in the UK. This was key part of the Brexit

If you aren't happy with the law of the land where you are residing, then don't reside there. Simple. Don't expect UK law to follow you around.

Precisely, It's ALMOST too simple isn't it......

The UK knows if they try to retain judicial control over UK citizens living in the EU, They will have zero chance of preventing the EU from achieving the same for its'citizens in the UK, and that is not BREXIT.

It's also not logical...

I wonder how well that would go down in the USA. Do you think Trump would allow EU law to apply Europeans now living in the USA? Maybe Australia would allow EU law to trump Australian law for Europeans now living in Aus'?

We drive on the left in the UK. That's the law. Do you think I can drive on the left in America as I'm a UK citizen? 😂 Or perhaps German citizens can drive on our motorways with no speed limit like they do on their autobahns? 180mph in a nice beamer?

If they tried that over here, we would probably just take them offshore for detention before sending them home (or to America , but Trump wouldn't be happy about it )

But needless to say it wouldn't go down well and why should it??

If they do that in places like Montana, its legal. The speed part, not left hand side of the road. :-)

Are you talking about Paris or rural Britain, central London or some remote little village in the Dordogne? Dumb question.
