Trump is in a mess... because the Strong Dollar is also connected to strong Stock market.. So a weak dollar will lead to a roll over in stock market. If he weakens the dollar SP500 crashes...

Assorbing the move in US dollar will lead the US30 from the current 20.000 to 17.000... a 3.000 point fall.. Good luck trump

I believe that there is no manipulation, the stock market boom is mainly hot money coming to America...

Strong Dollar == Strong stock market

Weak Dollar == Weak stock market.

What are you even saying? Weak dollar is good for US export businesses. That's most of the SP500 and the whole US30. Weak dollar means strong indices

Since when has Wall Street done the President's bidding? It's more to do with JPY strength than USD weakness in my mind. Yellen (and most of the Fed) wants to raise rates a couple more times this year, Trump wants the continuation of the low interest policy...let battle commence.

High interest rates means less money in circulation, which also means it becomes more expensive in trade. Trump wants more money in circulation to boost growth, especially with the possibility of putting forth an enormous infrastructure bill in the not too distant future, so naturally he wants the dollar to stay at the same interest levels.

Of course Trump should not be tweeting these kinds of things in public to rile the markets into a frenzy, it looks rather hypocritical on his part especially considering he was on record of accusing China as being a currency manipulator.

The manipulation of currency price through strategically timed political comments on exchange levels before a holiday weekend plus comment on future Fed appointments is open to significant corrupt insider exploitation, by anybody with prior knowledge or involved in or at the at source publication of such comments. Such advantage could be executed with even a couple of minutes prior knowledge.

And the point is what? The Swiss do it, the Japanese do it, the Chinese do it. The banks do it. Part of your strategy must include the fact that you know it's manipulated.

The banks you mentioned physically manipulate the currency, worse that just talk. All the rest such as FED, ECB, RBA, RBNZ, just talk their currency down. I no longer trade in CHF or JPY pairs because manipulation, need to be an insider to get an trading edge. Never have and probably never will touch Renminbi because it's a managed currency.
