I may be biased, but I agree. The USA has achieved great things and has created one of the greatest societies in the history of mankind. With that said, even the people of great nations make mistakes. As is the case with electing Trump. It's so baffling that I honestly wonder if the election results are legit (not saying they are not. Just wondering.). Hate to sound so cynical but I wouldn't be surprised if there are secret powers-to-be that engineered this outcome for God knows what reason. Reasons we may very well never know.

Its so popular to call Americans great without considering the factors they have at their disposal. Its a better comment to say what makes them great and what makes them not so great......Turning up infront of a pot of gold and selling it and buy big house and cars does not make a country or people great. It is the understanding of the leadership that it is the immigration factor that drives growth and development in the country that makes a country great.

A lack of understanding of this by any leader will set back the country as the development engine has always been on the backs of new immigrants.....The country is covered with every kind of resources found anywhere else on the planet! Any dumb people could convert that and they have!

Contrast that with the Japanese who had very little to start and were even bombed devastatingly by the same reckless Americans yet the smart Americans recognize the genious of the Japanese and see the value of creating allies with them.

The point of all of this is that it is very short sighted to just focus on only a few things that countries do. So everyone does various things and all peoples are great.

Yes even Hitler does foolish things yet if anyone is balanced in their observation they are able to see what on earth he has accomplished....many will say nothing but look again!

We generally have a very low standard for what constitue greatness....Greatness is when we produce results that clearly comes from the unselfish part of our being! Meaning that we neither do it out of obligation nor to obtain any direct benefit from such act!

go and pick up a history book it was not reckless to bombed the Japanese or even nuke them twice. and yes they have done very well for themselves but we are talking about Americans and not the Japanese

yes and if all the USA ever did was help stop the Nazis and imperial Japan and the Soviet Union they would still have earned the right to call them themselves a great country this is with out all the technological advancements they have giving to the world and all the medical achievements they have made just accept the truth they have help make the world a safer place but yes not without making massive mistakes in the process

But clearly by virtue of turning up as president and a thinking American at that Obama has been able to shift the sentiment of the world towards America.....Not many has been able to achieve this in such short time.

So surely such a person deserve some respect and cooperation right.....No No the idiots in the House (The republicans) decide to set back the development of the country 8yrs purely because of the outward appearance of the man. And at the same time slowing down the Global economy by not implementing the infrastructure program in a timely manner, that they are thing to do it now is irrelevant since we simply cannot do today what could have been done yesterday,we could never recover this lost opportunity to improve peoples lives. This wasted time is more than 10% of an average human life span.

We must cease comparing people to the actions of the worse of us like Hitler and raising the expected standard of behaviour and reason.

To think of this kind of crazy behavior by many in the world including America is so easily overlooked, ignored, goes unseen is blinding!
