Did you ever looked at following points of Oanda MT4 platform :-
1) Amazingly high spreads on ALL forex pairs

2) During and just before any important News Release Spreads Widens Like Mouth of Python. And yes, MT4 freezes many times during news release.

What is Cutting edge technology in this ? and that's awarded....

I've been using Oanda for over 9 years and I think they are the best. Yes the spread widens during news but only for a few seconds. They have the best fill with no requotes and I have never encountered their MT4 to freeze up.
Maybe Oanda is good for experienced traders. We know the traps.
All new ones get ripped off.
And surely it's sponsored deal, they buy advertising, don't they

I've traded with Oanda for a very long time. I like the flexibility of trading whatever amount I want, I like their honest financing rates and the tight spreads on exotics. As for spreads 5 minutes before and 2 minutes after news releases: If you are trading news you are a sucker anyway.

They have also filled all my stop loss orders during the CHF-peg-removal-chaos.
Trading with them for 8 years and wouldn't trust any other broker.

Its a good analysis by you. Most broker has their strong points it is for the trader to see if a particular brokers strong points and weak points fit their style of trading.

Trading News is reliable....Dont knock it without looking into it.

Even when the news may not be too great most of the major USD pairs almost always move up PRIOR TO THE NEWS....This is the key to trade news the reliable part is leadup which must be traded separately from the impact after the news. Similarly most pairs retrace after the news as well and good EA could capitalize on this.

So instead of just generalizing its best to keep an open mind a let the knowledge flow!

Any decent focus on the Economic calender could make a person many reliable Pips with minimal loss....Way better than scalping I recon.

Clearly the news is ideally used a part of a wider strategy but by itself it could be profitable. But key is to leave before the news.
Best or not, they make money.
Their customers don't.
Same for all Forex brokers.

MT4, I doubt they got an award for something that's been around for 15 odd years lol

Maybe try one of their other platforms like TradingView. All the real traders use it ;-)
Trading view is excellent, good value for money and worth a subscription if you are looking for value for money chart package.

Its free with Oanda. You don't have the social interaction through the Oanda version but it still is the same charting software. You can also place trades from the charts. I think FXCM also has this feature currently in Beta test.
With the Free version you pretty much get what you pay for.

If you like making charts with basic Trend, support and resistance, multi-time frame analysis etc then its worth your while to get the full charting package...not that expensive compared to the kind of money you can make using a good chart.

I don't think these awards mean anything. Almost all brokers plaster one award or another on their websites in the mistaken notion it would enhance their cred.

We are the best judge of whether a broker is good or not based on our individual experiences with them.
