Gross domestic product rose 6.7 percent in the first quarter from a year earlier, the statistics authority announced Friday, meeting the median projection of economists Bloomberg surveyed and in line with the government growth target of 6.5 percent to 7 percent for the full year. Industrial output, fixed-asset investment and retail sales all picked up in March. Signs of stabilization in the world’s second-biggest economy and bets on a subdued pace ... (full story)

With such a bad first 2 months, GDP never jumps around radically like the US. Does everyone notices that? So if China's economy was ever in trouble, we will not know until months later. I do not trust the data. That's my 2 cents.

THEIR THE ONES THAT YOU SHOULDN'T TRUST BECAUSE IT'S GDP, IT SHOULDN'T "RADICALLY" JUMP AROUND LMFAO AT YOU NEWBS.

Your country is the most corrupt country on earth by a long shot. Just look at your next president.

LOL, considering ALL the leading nations are in bed together, there's plenty of corruption to go around. Canada's no different.

The rest of the world is having a hard time achieving GDP above 1%. The first 2 months was bad for China and they manage 6.7%. I wonder what will happen to the rest of the world when China's GDP is at 6.5%. Global reccession?
Growth as well as slowdown in the economy is not linear due to many factors. It can be as simple as the weather.
Something to think about.

all Chinese numbers are deadly accurate, calculated according to CAAP (Chinese accepted accounting principles), and then audited by the government before release to the media.

Looks like copper is getting beaten down as usual....not surprised considering there are warehouses filled to the ceilings with the garbage...

Copper does seem like the only beaten down commodity left to buy the bottom in

Mortgage holders should prepare for an inevitable interest rate rise in the next six months, Australia's main finance broker organisation has warned.

Big banks are set to raise rates before the end of the year regardless of whether the Reserve Bank of Australia lifts the official cash rate, Finance Brokers Association of Australia spokesman Peter White told AAP

People with loans and those looking at investing need to be prepared, he said.

Copper is an indicator for economic health. Market reaction is seeing China's good news for what it really is which is not good. Either structural changing is coming or China will reach an unsustainable mountain of debt. Both will be painful for its economy.
