  • Islamic State 'earning millions by playing the stock market'

    From telegraph.co.uk

The Islamic State is making millions of dollars for its war chest by playing foreign currency markets under the noses of bank chiefs, it was revealed today. The terror group is earning up to $20m (£14.29m) a month by funnelling dollars looted from banks during its takeover of the Iraqi city of Mosul into legitimate currency markets in the Middle East. It then makes huge returns on currency speculation, which are then wired back via unsuspecting financial authorities in Iraq and Jordan, a parliamentary committee was told on Wednesday. actually its really very easy for them to earn off trading whichever market. they can be termed as terrorist, extremist and now market manipulators.. recall back to a year ago, what happened in paris. markets across the board fell when news hit the wire.. and given that they orchestrated the whole thing. they have all the "insider info" they need

To think 6 of the worlds most powerful countries bombing the shit out of one country but yet Isis are making millions from oil production trading and all sorts.

How much money is being made from weapon, and other warfare production?

The UN the US the EU the UK, Turkey, Saudi, Quatar, Australia, Russia, China. And they cant defeat a piss fart little army?

Something is not right.

Hopefully the truth will come out one day...

Another reason why we need to implement a block-chain like payment network, and get rid of paper fiat, and move to digital.

Yeah and who's going to hold your digital cash? Bigger crooks gangsters thieves and swindlers than ISIS - the banksters.

I want cold hard cash and precious metal coins. I don't want anyone controlling my hard earned and hard taxed currency.

Miss point. Since the invention of Bitcoin + blockchain in 2009... cryptocurrencies are decentralized. There is no central control. Only difficult attack vectors.

How it is possible that many countries are bombing one small armed group (with US weapons) and group is becoming stronger day by day, because bombing is not done on group but opponents of group, ISIS in nothing but extension of NATO that is why NATO ally shot down jet bombarding on militants

According to a recent Vice episode on HBO, ISIS is not so small anymore. They easily defeat each town's local military force, gaining what Vice said to be up to a third of Iraq. Then on the other side of the country you have Iran backed Sunni fighters, some very nasty, holding ISIS back. It is hard to see brighter days for those folks over there. Many of you are right though, a sizable force could push ISIS back into Syria. I think the biggest problem for now is USA is in an election year. I find it unlikely that we commit boots on the ground until after 2016.

Did pretty well in a matter of days if not hours in Yugoslavia and Iraq and whenever the true objective was to sweep the opponent ASAP and the opposite when the true objective was (fill in the blank)...

You may also call me a clown like the other guest but I have the firm belief that the biggest and strongest army of the world in the history of mankind can not just be defeated by any bunch of third world peasants.

I think you got this one wrong. Iran will never back Sunnis in anything - those are Shiites they're backing. Minor detail though it does remind us Iraq as a single undivided entity is unsustainable. Unless you bring back someone like Saddam... and then the whole thing starts all over again.

I don't care. Metal coins and paper notes are works of art as well as legal tender. Anyone who thinks notes are worthless paper should try and make a $100 bill/note and see how difficult it is. It would cost much more than $100 to make and that's even if you get the plates (is that old technology now?).
