Well, most CPI data came in below expectations=bearish for USD, but Real Earnings rose by +0.4 compared to -0.4 last time, which should be quite bullish for USD, and I think the relatively strong Real Earnings data outweighs the somewhat weak (or in line w expectations) CPI data, thus the strong USD right now. Just my 5 cents.

You are reading the headline result, but the devils are in the details. Food and energy increased but dragged down by cars, furnishing, etc. Food and energy are important consideration because you can do without cars and furnishing, you cannot do without food and energy. Just my opinion.

Its a f*#^ing scam thats what it is.....sick and tired of major banks manipulating the market just to get their hands on the peoples money! When will they ever get what they deserve rather than just a fairy slap on the wrist? Fraudsters all the way from brokers to liquidity providers.....even if it does happen to go in the direction that you pick - they make sure you get stopped out by widening the spread to almighty f#%k. Scamsters and fraudsters!

Smart money is accumulating orders.
It will go up in a while.
Banks know the minds of retail traders and know there are short stops between 1.1020 and 1.1000 so they drop to pick up the bargain prices before going higher.

It's clear that US consumers are not buying useless plastic junk with their savings from lower gas prices as many thought they would. That's probably because all the savings from lower gas prices was spent on higher health insurance premiums and deductibles. Businesses are simply not seeing the increase in demand for products that usually produces higher top line numbers and increased wages. The CPI is not approaching the Fed target of 2% inflation, and in fact deflation is now a real danger. If the Fed is true to it's word, it will delay raising rates until December at the earliest. If Ben Bernanke was still running the Fed, he'd be loading up the helicopters with sacks of $100 bills right about now.

I don't think he/she is a fear-monger. I see someone who has not figured-out how to trade the News. He might come to like it when he/she does

That does not takeaway the truth or facts in what he/she is saying! And your "grandma" sarcasm is uncalled for!!

Housing costs within CPI were up .4% and housing expenses up 3.1%(not positive on this). This data has been highest gain in eight years and is a pinnacle measure for the advancement in inflation.
