  • No rate hike until Fed sees inflation returning to normal: Fischer

    From marketwatch.com

The Federal Reserve is concerned about low inflation and won't move before it sees inflation returning to more normal levels, said Stanley Fischer, the vice chairman of the U.S. central bank, in a television interview Monday. "The interesting situation in which we are is that employment has been rising pretty fast relative to previous performance and yet inflation is very low. And the concern about the situation is not to move before we see inflation as well as employment returning to more normal levels," he said. If the Fed were focused solely on inflation, it would have to try to be more accommodative, if that was ... (full story)

Agitprop. They will raise 25-bps in September. The credibility (such as it is) of the global central banking edifice is at stake.

super strong dollar will never produce "normal inflation" and raising rate would make it even stronger.

Dollar isnt strong, its quite weak actually. Sure its strong against fiat garbage like GBP, Euro, Yen.

Check Dollar in terms Food prices, Clothing or Housing. Check those things on a 10 year time line. Dollar is very weak, as are all the other fiat currencies all of them having lost lot of value. Now sure if you compare shit vs shit then yea Dollar looks better than the other fiat waste.

These are the assets old folks own

Houses

Stocks

Bonds

Rates stay low these go up

How to keep rates low , lie about the inflation in the system on essentials like

Shelter

Food

Heat

And invent a deflation story to keep the masses silent

This works great until France 1789, Russia 1917, etc, etc ...... these guys are treating everyone as dumb , read Tolstoy, read Chekov the parallels are scary

Anyways , no rate rise until Zimbabwe dollars look pricey methinks

LOLZ, can't stop laughing

Mugabe would like that commentary Bankerssuck. The thing is, that Zimbabwe is already using the USD and the ZAR as borrowed fiat!

So, are you implying the Yuan will replace the Dollar in the US in near term?

Just being curious

Well China has all the manufacturing until that doesnt change they call all the shots.

Not that i support the Yuan either, I think eventually we are going back to Gold for trade settlement(As Gold is the only real money). Sure Yuan may play a role to fill the gap until that happens.

PS many US companies have already started using the Yuan in their trade settlement with China. This would have been unheard off few years back. If this keeps growing, which it will, it will become a problem for the USD.

The US economy recovery has never seen an inflation of over 2% or under and near to 2 % since the the last financial crisis of 2007~2009 and perhaps never will be by Sept or e.o 2015 or even into 2016. So if FED’s banking its decision on an inflation of 2% or under but near to 2% then there won’t be any rate hike coming.

When FED raises rates people will feel economy is better and will start spending.
Someone should go out and say loud to people that the economy is stable and they will not lose their jobs.
