  • Tsipras: I don't believe in new Greek reforms

    From wptz.com

Greece's Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras said Tuesday he does not believe in the new economic measures that have been forced upon him by European lenders in exchange for a third bailout worth as much as $96 billion. Greek lawmakers are set to vote to ratify these new, contentious economic reforms Wednesday. Only then will the country be able to receive new cash to help it avoid bankruptcy. "We don't believe in the measures that were imposed upon us," Tsipras said during a TV interview, marking his first appearance since returning from the negotiating table with 18 other eurozone nations that have promised the bailout ... Loser says he doesn't believe in reforms, but accepts the terms of the bailout anyway. What a wuss.

"forced upon him by European lenders" - does it mean that he was tortured to make him sign the agreement?

The only reason they are worse is because he did such a good job negotiating
Also... Greece had 7 years to get some good things done, their politicians did nothing... and now its time for the grown ups to step in.

Its not Tipras who will suffer anyway... just his people.

He doesn't approve but he's taking the money. No crap he's going to take the money! Their banks are closed. They have no money. And he's out of time to negotiate. Whoever thinks the political figures of Greece is going to say no to the deal - despite what the voters think - is a fool. You just don't start a new currency system over night. Their country is already in ruins. Waiting months for the country to establish a new currency is not an option for them. They have no money! He's just doing the typical "political damage control" to save his image with the voters.

He gambled enough till the lenders and now his own people lose trust in him. Equally "forced" the lenders are in no hurry to a done deal such that if the reform proposals don't get passed by Greece's legislations, the show might has well be over today - no more talk no more bailouts no bridge financing.

...so he need not worry.

How can he make the reforms ever work if he does'nt believe in them?!!

They'll take the money for now 'cos they are desperate, then default, then back to the Drachma

Poor creditors - kiss your money goodbye!!

hence the oversight committee for all the good it will do ....shame about that

The bridging finance fudge is the most annoying one, as it avoids a vote from all 28 members & only requires 65% of the EZ members to vote.....this using the funds they swore they would not touch again in 2013.....

The longer I have to deal with politicians the more I loathe them......
self absorbed petty individuals whose entire world is there ego & there bank accounts

They will vote it through.
They will get the money.

But voting it through and following it through (actually doing everything agreed over the long term) are two entirely different things.

Talking and walking are miles apart for some

Yeah...that might happen. Know what's the trouble? No will to implement reforms even if those get through Greek's legislation today.

fairly accurate.....all the while they'll be coming up with innovative ways around the paying of any tax.......

just ask the HMRC about greek hotels in the UK they can have 100% occupancy all year round but come tax time it will "magically" become 30%

Oh I do LOVE Keiser.. Russia's spin-clone of Fox news and American "Talk Radio"
I have over a dozen news channel feeds. from BBC to Algeciras, Fox to CCTV, Bloomberg/CNBC to RT France 24 to.. etc etc..
Thing is if you trawl them you can find a case to support almost any proposition. LoL
