ELA is the immediate lifesaver but "a sustainable agreement" is nowhere in sight.

The expectation is Merkel and EZ will soften the tone. Now, they realize that Greeks are not to be taken lightly.

If Merkel and EZ persist with austerity, then the consequences can be huge.

Everybody is calculating what happens if Greece decides enuf is enuf.

Exactly, FRX !

The Tsipras government has done something incredibly brave, and shown they are not idealistic, reckless neophytes, but rather quite honest and willing to put their own decisions to a Plebescite confirmation.

This has shown that the EU's previous game of 'chicken' has failed. When Merkel and Co. come to the table, they can either start negotiating in good faith....with a country who's hand is far stronger now...or they can continue their old game of political retribution and economic punishment.

The former is what the world needs...the latter would be quite sad, and embarrasing to the EU yet again.

"sustainable or not" was the concern of the poll.
People chose it over recovering their cash from the bank immediately. Smart choice.

I'm following this drama since 2010. Back then and back in 2012 the German chancellor had quite a different tone concerning this matter. Every time her financial minister said something stern about Greece, frau Merkel was there to say the opposite with soften tone. She definitely had Scheuble to conduct her real message. Now, in 2015 - her tone is quite diplomatically polite just repeating the founding principles of the EZ. I would count on some softening here.
