The Committee agreed to maintain the target range for the federal funds rate at 0 to 1/4 percent and to reaffirm in the statement that the Committee's decision about how long to maintain the current target range for the federal funds rate would depend on its assessment of actual and expected progress toward its objectives of maximum employment and 2 percent inflation.

The Committee agreed that the statement should indicate that the data received over the intermeeting period suggested that economic growth had slowed and to note that this partly reflected transitory factors.

In their discussion of monetary policy for the period ahead, members judged that information received since the FOMC met in March suggested that economic growth slowed during the winter months, in part reflecting transitory factors. The pace of job gains moderated, and the unemployment rate remained steady. A range of labor market indicators suggested that underutilization of labor resources was little changed. Although growth in household spending declined, households' real incomes rose strongly, partly reflecting earlier declines in energy prices, and consumer sentiment remained high.

Participants discussed the merits of providing an explicit indication, in postmeeting statements released prior to the commencement of policy firming, that the target range for the federal funds rate would likely be raised in the near term.

I've just lost quite a bit with the sudden bearish and bullish. So is it bullish or bearish? The rate is so inconsistent.

made my 20 pips as fed plays around as always. Several times a day i get my 20 pips, in and out in short times. Only a few times do i even try to let it go for more but a few times a month i get 150-200 pip runs, usually with these kind of announcements but not today.

I no longer care if usd goes up or down or if euro goes up or down long-term or to even try to make sense of any of it. I only care about price action for the next hour or so.

too much market manipulation to make sense of it really, as confirmed by billions in fines to the major banks...and imho that is just the tip of the iceberg. The fines do not matter to them, it is a drop in the bucket for them.

You must trade these clear un-risky event 3 time each 15 minutes on tips, highs/lows>

you must earn 500 pips in 15 minutes since it is direct and simple.

Upon release the EU spiked +40 pips. Three minutes later it was down -40 pips. Thirty minutes later it was +35 pips.

I can't make money in that link of psycho action.

I don't think even basket trading could fetch 500 pips in 15 minutes. I just trade charts not news and that is the only thing you can do without giving anything else any importance.

“A few anticipated that the information that would accrue by the time of the June meeting would likely indicate sufficient improvement in the economic outlook to lead the Committee to judge that its conditions for beginning policy firming had been met”, minutes said.

The problem is that despite analysts having all the facts of the fomc meeting in - none can call the market. It is a real laugh because just like everyone else the are watching the market tick up and down and wondering what the hell is going on. You sirs are on your own - that is the market.

I agree, 500 points i.e 50 pips. But this strategy can only be tested during press release and not data release. Also looking at chart now I feel this strategy will fail after 2-3 15 mins candle. Though I like this observation.

"The government agency charged with calculating the nation's growth rate is acknowledging problems with its numbers and pledging a series of fixes over the next several months. In a statement to CNBC, the Bureau of Economic Analysis said it's "aware of issues" in it gross domestic product data and "is developing methods to address what it has found." Eur is building momentum for a new (3rd wave) higher. The pullback towards 50 fib is complete. Look at the daily chart, its all there. On April 23rd Eur crossed short term moving averages into no man's land which was W3. On May 6th a classic 5 wave pattern was completed, after that follows an A, B, C and now we're ready for the big run.

Not a bad analysis. I follow EWT. My only problem with your analysis is that you skip over Wave 4 and jump to Wave 5 on May 5th. My thinking is that we did not finish Wave 3 until May 15 and we are now seeing a corrective Wave 4.

Buy dollar -- especially against NZD.
NZDUSD potential to short is great, given the horriblke NZ economic outlook, great US outlook. lowering of the rates in NZ, raising the rates in US, recommendation by the big banks to sell NZDUSD (Barclays, Goldman Sacks, Bank of America, Citi.. etc)....
