  • If not 'patient' then what? — Here's your complete FOMC preview

    From businessinsider.com

It is all about "patient." On Wednesday, the Federal Reserve will announce its latest monetary policy decision after wrapping up its two-day meeting. The decision is set for release at 2:00 pm ET, and will be accompanied by the Fed's latest Summary of Economic Projections. Fed Chair Janet Yellen will also hold a news conference set to get underway at 2:30 pm ET. The last time we heard from Yellen back in December, the Fed dropped the much-debated phrase "considerable time" when discussing how long it would wait to raise rates after the end of its asset purchase program, which it concluded in October 2014. ... I guess Dollar will start crashing by this coming up FOMC meeting, because, dollar rallied for 8 consecutive moths now with less than 2% retracement every time it went berish.
USDX is extremely overbought ans the crash should bring it down to at least 10% retracement level (around 90 +- 2)

What if the FOMC is positive and signals an interest rise in July?

It really doesn't matter, because a retracement is a MUST, even if FED want dollar at 200 even!

But, let's not forget that keeping the dollar higher is way painful in the long run than if it's hovering around 80's for instance (2008 till mid 2014).

Keep in mind that if higher dollar helps the economy, we would have dollar at 500 by now!

It doesn't matter what words she using. The point doesn't change is there no clear date when the interst rate going to rise. Kind of silly to change the words around. So now once in wait they will change one or two word from their silly statements that they make the samething every month. Well i guess that is progress consider ben never change any single word when he was the fed lol.

The word patient will be removed and replaced with "The patient is now mentally ill"

The USD will fall sharply.

The biggest impact of a strong dollar is that U.S. exports will have a hard time selling their products priced in dollars. As the dollar becomes stronger and other currencies become weaker, the U.S. economy is in danger of slowing down again because of a potential trade deficit.while markets fear the advent of Fed rate hikes in 2015, the reduced inflation pressure from a rising dollar may allow the Fed to start later and raise rates more slowly than would have otherwise been the case.It will be doubtful to trust more about the appreciation of dollar. However Fed may act accordingly which should determine the long-term impact of the strong dollar on the American economy.

There is a time for all things, but I didn’t know it. And that is precisely what beats so many men in Wall Street who are very far from being in the main sucker class. There is the plain fool, who does the wrong thing at all times everywhere, but there is the Wall Street fool, who thinks he must trade all the time. Not many can always have adequate reasons for buying and selling stocks daily – or sufficient knowledge to make his play an intelligent play. (Jesse Livermore) = Patient, imho
