a bit of opinion about living in GB, and it has nothing to do with statistics.
I will compare situation of casual people in GB in 2007 and now.
when I came to UK in 2007 my first job was paid 7.5 per hour. but unemployment was lower, and prices were lower. for 30 quid me and my wife could do shopping for week. I remember once I lived 3 days on 7 quid worth of food and I wasn't hungry (pizza, french fries, lasagne, beans from can and other shite food). It was way easier to get a job. Now prices of food are at least 50% higher and for casual unskilled person it is hard to find a job paid over 7 quid an hour - if you take a look at job adverts, there are lots of them, but it's nothing specific, and everything with agency.
So whatever statistics say it don't correspond to casual people's lives.

and a bit more about statistics. When the crisis started Poland was said to be the only country with GDP on plus. What a bullshit. How does that compare to casual people's lives? at least 5% of Polish population left abroad within last 10 years, ran away from this country like rats running from sinking ship. and unemployment is still getting higher. It was 9% in 2007 and is about 14% now (what will happen if all those people come back?) . twice as much people commit suicide now, people wait for months to get to specialist doctors, prices of food are similar like in Western countries but salaries are as low as 300 Euro a month. Try to live for that, try to raise a family, try to take a mortgage. Of course our government will say about their success and GDP on plus - but how does it compare to average person's life?

in France is it s the opposite GDP stagnate but the average person's life is better day on day
prices go down and income go up so...

The former was a precrisis baloon, the latter is closer to reality. Simple as that.

Statistics are nothing but BS based on created and ever varying models. Whenever looking at them just ask yourself 3 questions.

1) What model is being used?
2) Who created that model?
3) What is the intent of the creator?

The British empire was vast in land and wealth when they ruled the world. Somewhere along the way their elite learned to allow others the headaches of the land and people......If they " controlled " the world currencies the few elite would be vastly better off than if they tried to manage the land and the people so they exported wealth to the USA and exploited our labor and resources losing wars but all the time consolidating their currency power... Even consider why the UK did not give up the pound? The history of the Opium Wars has been repeated now in the other countries of the world not as dramatically but drugs have eroded the moral and economic fiber of the countries of EUROPE and now the USA .... The worlds populations of INDIA and CHINA are next to be enriched with consumerism ........ We as regular folks are hard pressed to see truth as we can not afford to experience what is happening but simply google the major cities of China Indonesia , India and it's easy to see interstate highways and modern buildings that exceed USA uses the poverty is massive but recall America in the 1890,'s a few great cities but largely rural and poverty were descriptors. So if you can imagine a small group of wealthy men who have been working in concert for 300 years it's conceivable that this did not happen by accident the news like this simply give them cover to do what they do Proof ? Is impossible to provide but evidence of the position is everywhere
