Germany: New orders in April 2014 up a seasonally adjusted +3.1% on the previous month

Price-adjusted new orders in manufacturing in April 2014 increased a seasonally and working day adjusted 3.1% on March 2014 (following –2.8% in March 2014 on February 2014), according to provisional data of the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis). Foreign orders increased 5.5% while domestic orders remained at the level of the previous month. As regards the direction of trade in foreign transactions, new orders from the euro area were up 9.9% on the previous month, while new orders from other countries increased by 3.1%.
