The US economy needs to create 400K jobs a month just to keep up with the number of people that should be entering the workforce.

Wait until Obama care starts hitting the economy, we're looking at 40 years of global decline. Left on it's own the US economy is a wealth generating engine. Government gets involved and it can barely chug along.

And according to the FED's published remit. when they entered into their open ended asset purchase scheme, the USA needs to create 3 million jobs from Dec 2012 to take unemployment down to 6.5% and once that figure is reached QE is stopped. However, on the current job creation numbers that could take an extra two trillion usd of QE.

Are we in a setup similar to what you called, back in 29 Apr ?

When displaying Bollinger bands (50 period, 2 SD), eurusd is mostly travelling at lower side, except for those fake breakouts upward.

Would it be relevant to consider an opposite situation (as per the call last 29 Apr), ie a short and fast breakout upward, followed by a steady descent to the 1.20's level ?

Frankly I would not be surprised to see 1.29500 or thereabouts before we get firm on further upside. The behavior of the Euro has been for me very irritating and in fact I lost a couple of trades today that has me in a very bad mood as it had to do with my concentration. I tend to think we are finally on our way each time the pair shows some upside and had a winner turn loser then entered the reaction too late ensuring another loser (I am impatient for the expected rise). But clearly can't rule out 1.29500 at this stage.

BTW: I do not see how we can fail to see 1.34 before we see 1.27 but the Euro takes forever to get out of range and go anywhere - very frustrating but I guess it is to do with the fact that it is so bloody liquid.

You know (if you are asking me) I do not recall my calls as I really trade dynamics and not statics. What I can say now is that we are due for a low on D1 and that low I expect will not exceed the 1.29500 handle or at the worst 1.28700 (more unlikely) and then we should be making our way up. D1 is actually in a range so it really depends on what time frame you are looking at using that setup. I stay mainly with H4 which is in a range on that scale as well and should bottom out for us to rise but it is taking forever and the moves are as if intended to ensure I personally don't make the trip north. Cheers

Did you hear that? Was it a rusty can being rattled with a few coppers in it? Perhaps he could double up and sell the Big Issue at the same time :-0

I tried to see that setup from M1 to H4 (as per your indications). Below M15 is too volatile. At H4 the lower limit is now around 1.2990, so maybe you're giving a certain margin for expansion down, but to reach 1.3400 upward it is still a far league north...
Unless of course you're anticipating an expansion of upper limits of volatility channel, which will make that quite possible.
How do you calculate those cyclical expansions and contractions, if I may ask for more precisions ?

haha not the first time you got frustrated because it is not breaking the range......when i used to scalp i loved times such as these and you used to say no wonder scalpers can make a living in this industry .....but all profits used to drain sometimes when it finally did break the range and you are caught on the wrong side ...it is always cool when you can have the last laugh

The thing is there is no wrong side for me as you will see - I can see the market - it is the Ali Baba effect that is my problem - would be nice to trade with a gun to my head and a bad looking goon saying - you are not the market just trade the freaking model and stop experimenting stuff - what you know is enough. But the Ali Baba effect is hard to deal with I never knew I could create the sort of visibility I now have and now that I have the greed in me just won't let me be (I am more in hurry and impatient now than when I was blind. and I know what to expect in most situations but the linearity in my human thinking (tunnel vision) gets in the way (and some ego too) - sometimes ignorance can be bliss. What a laugh
