  • EUR/USD Technicals – Bullish Breakout or Fakeout?

    From oanda.com

Looking at short-term chart since 17th April, one can easily draw the conclusion that EUR/USD is in a firm downtrend below 1.32. Bulls were mostly kept at bay below 1.3025 resistance (previous support from April 18 – 23rd) and a test on the aforementioned ceiling was made during London hours, with bears quickly put the uprising to rest, sending price lower. That was the golden opportunity for EUR/USD bears to go for the jugular. The setup was ... (full story)

I tend to look at a chart in terms of supply/demand also as I trade off the 5 min chart I seldom look beyond the 1 hr chart as that is 12 times the 5 min chart. Rule of thumb, look at 30 min for trend, drop to 15 to confirm, drop to 5.Trade trend of 30 using supply demand off the 30 but the action is on the 5. That is the playground for the day usually. However, there are other factors to learn. Go on a good course, learn how to read the market from those who know. There is a lot of analysis paralysis going on in this game.Look at the obvious, then get on with it with clearly defined stop and target.Buy cheap sell dear. It works most of the time.
happy trading

I trade in the same way that Reldas does on supply/demand and then looking for higher timeframe trend and then drop down to a 2 minute chart for entry. Check out Sam Seiden for a good course about this

OK, the first thing you need to do is ditch the 5 minute chart, it 'tells' you nothing. I get the same info from the tick charts as the daily and above.

He mentions supply and demand, have a think about that in terms of what constants the market can offer you up daily to trade from, where is supply and demand when the chart is 'fresh'..

This notion that; its gone through the 30 min, now the 15, now the 5, now the..is nonsense. It's demonstrating momentum which can be observed simply on higher time frames.

Squeeze, I respectfully disagree with you, and I do agree with the 2 posters before you. I guess: " the proof of the pudding, is in the eating". We shall wait and see how this plays out.
