  • Obama expected to propose freeze on middle-class tax rates

    From washingtonpost.com

President Obama is expected to call on lawmakers Friday to pass legislation to immediately freeze tax rates for the middle class and will urge Congress to work together to resolve the year-end “fiscal cliff.” In a statement scheduled for 1 p.m. in the East Room of the White House, the president will ask Congress to work together to find ways to keep the economy growing and tame the nation’s debt. Obama is not planning to release a new plan as he gets back to the business of governing after a long and victorious reelection campaign. He is holding back, at least for several days, as lawmakers on Capitol Hill ... (full story)

Gold 1735 1744 1752
The Gold is trading slightly above tough resistance around $1735.00 an ounce, after advancing the whole week to hit 3-week high, where the trading range for today is expected among the key support at $1725.00 and key resistance now at $1752.00.
Investors now have altered their trading positions shifting to gold after the win of Obama as they resorted to the yellow metal at the expense of equities as their hopes to see a cut in corporate taxes pledged by Mitt Romney were dented.

Gold retreats slightly towards 1732.00 and should find support around it. For the intraday bullish bias to remain dominant, 1725.00 should halt further declines?

Gold just playing around its 50 fibo and won't go lower than 38.2 fibo nor higher than 61.8 fibo this week. It still moves in the area I've predicted 12 hours ago ( see http://gold-god.blogspot.com ).
So, better have a rest. Happy weekend...

Traders keep in mind that Gold rally with the Euro and in Euro Zone.........
Yesterday, the euro remained weak after a narrow approval by the Greek Parliament to some austerity measures needed to unleash the next installment worth 31.5 billion euros to prevent the country from bankruptcy, before a critical vote on 2013 budget on Sunday???

Whatever Prez Obama says today will not affect RISK currencies positively, stocks will get sold; those morons and vultures at the Wall Street will never be satisfied this week; they supported a loser, Mitt (prez candidate) and got their poker faces blooded with defeat. Prez Obama is not US Fed Chairman, Dr. BB to drop printed dollars on the Wall Street, so poor Prez Obama, he will do his best to encourage the investors but nay, those vultures are mourning for a defeat; worrying about super fiscal cliff is just an excuse to get out of over-valued stocks…I am in a SELLING mood….SELLING any currency I could lay my hands on against JPY and USD!

My opinion?
Logically, whatever Obama say in his speech, QE will not just stop in sudden. Honestly, I think it will not influence gold to go down lower than 1700. Probably the speech will not have too much effect.
I still believe gold will make more attempts to break 1800 before the year end. That's why I still hold my longs and added my margin to hold that.
But as we all know, market is dynamic. So who knows what happen next week.

Hello belief81,
That's why we say the market is dynamic. Everything can happen.
I'm still bullish on gold for long term but I also know correction happens. I also believe I wrote that gold can retrace to 1650 the worst. So, the downtrend in gold we just had, was still in my expecting range.
BTW, I've been doing seminars for last 12 years and still doing it (not trading seminar). Hopefully gold down $1.000 because I'm doing seminars.... LOL...
Have a nice weekend...

Thank God, some common sense in here. It's risk off, tax cuts are gone next year also, so rich selling their stock holdings before taxes increase. I think GU in free fall until at least 1.58 and see 1.52xx area on the horizon.

The run up to the election was one of the major factors propping up the market last month. The day after the election the GU has one of its biggest 1 day drops this quarter.
No coincidence. Doesn't matter who got in really, a fiscal cliff is a fiscal cliff and options are limited. Good luck to Obama in dealing with this financial fiasco while keeping the economy growing. Maybe the Democrats and Republicans will begin working together for the good of the nation, but then again...

Rebublicans will accept new tax revenue as longs as it does not come from higher taxes..

Ha ha, that sounds kind of funny.

Ok, we won't increase taxes, we'll create new ones then? Or something else??, remove loop holes for the rich. Either way, it's a needed money shift from the citizens to the Govt to pay the debt.

Politics hasn't changed a bit, except to get a little more insanely strange...
Come with me if you want to live....
