    From reuters.com

When Daniel McCune graduated from college three years ago, he was optimistic his good grades would earn him a job as an intelligence analyst with the government. With a Bachelor of Science degree from Liberty University in Virginia, majoring in government service and history, McCune applied for jobs at the National Security Agency, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and other agencies. But after a long hunt that yielded only two interviews, the 26-year-old threw in the towel last fall, joining millions of frustrated Americans who have given up looking for work. Why is it that some people always find a job and others give up "because there is nothing out there"?

starting small, when you don't have experience, grade means nothing.
so just do some low paying salesperson or whatever, then start looking for some real career. it is hard to start earning good money right out of school.
you can't compete with those who have experience and also looking for jobs.

"hang a the carrot in the employers face method"people have think outside the square , he/anyone could of offered to work for 1/2 pay and under cut those above him, setting himself up work experience even! and showing thinking / initiative to potential boss .Recieving of hours worked does count sometimes.. l know thats how l did it, early on. Do things differently out in a difficult work force during hard time can pay dividends.
