Although i respect him for his financial success, i just can't trust good ole George.
He is just the oldest con in the world, no need to not like him, but sure no reason to love the guy.
Very stupid analysis and unscientific...how many people do you know in the world who said they hate Soro? and for what reason? to hate somebody, you must have a reason or the person might have done something bad to you...why hate somebody who doesn't even know you exist or haven't done something bad to you?
Nowadays, some people don't want to take responsibility for their own shortcomings, they wake up in the morning, get to office and hate everything around them including their own jobs that put a food on their table and a very innocent boss who just wants them to be productive....

Well expressed Dragonfire. Many people hide behind their web browsers and spurt out hate comments because of their own inadequacies and failure to take responsibility and control for their own lives, so they have to blame someone else!

Thats a fallacy, I can hate Soros, Hitler, Mussolini, the President of BP, Pinochet, all the politicians that allow wars and starvation....And they didn't know me and haven't done anything bad to me.

your are right to hate politicians..public figure..their decisions affect your daily life...but Soro is just like one of us...surviving in the business fiefdom...he has a wit that many of business class are lacking..that's why he broke the bank of England because of bank's own folly....Soro's daily decision is only business...not lame-dumb plan to control a fellow man through useless political speeches...he gives to homeless, fatherless, pennyless, bankrupted countries and down to Earth souls; is this how a good man is rewarded, via hate? he is not building multi billion dollar home to live but giving out HIS OWN money for a good cause...love him if you can, hate him if you want to...hating somebody is just putting on extra weight on yourself....personally, I don't hate anybody..if you do me wrong, I will just ignore your existence and I don't think about it again....

Every living being should have the rhyme; if you don’t have the rhyme then life isn’t worth living; I like music a lot; if I am not on the dance floor belly-dancing to lose some pounds then I am in my basement looking at screens with country or soul music in the background while bashing EUR/USD, my favorite pair! Why EUR/USD? Situation by situation bases, it always work for me.
I do have a different kind of psychology and it needs a lot of personal training and discipline; if somebody wants to do you wrong, he or she is very aware of a kind of reaction she or he is expecting to satisfy his or her ego, so if you react differently that person never achieve his aim.
I can tell you this; one day at New York, subway station, a guy pushed me to get his way into the train, I never said a word and when we met in the train, he was ready for reaction from me to say something nasty to him by the way he was looking at me; I just told him, “what a nice shoe you have on!”, he laughed and later apologized for pushing me. Do you think he would have apologized if I just confronted him? You look at the situation and release an appropriate response!

DragonFire you see I don't get this kind of training simply because I'm 6'6 and yiiiiiiiiikes, winter weight: 230 pounds, people aren't pushing me, they go around

But I think I get your point, it's kind of mental alchemy. Turn mercury or anything into gold. Really adorable if you're capable of that. I don't think I am - but at least I (try to) know my limits.

n'way, i have heard too many stories about other rich people who made their wealth by screwing people over on the guise of "its just business" but at least his guilt caught up with him and he is realizing that when u have conquered the world and possessed everything u ever wanted, in the end what u give back counts more than what u got out of it.

the most powerful tool one can acquire is "the power of humility' as you said it...it sounds easy but it needs a lot of personal training to arrive at it...once you have it..then you have the upper hand over the aggressor..

Soros......the "I will point out the Jews for the occupiers". What a great guy.
Ah well, they have never liked messengers. All those "nations" can do whatever crap that they want and yet when somebody like Soros points out their problems then all of sudden Soros is the bad guy.

Soros did NOT break the Bank of England nor any other currencies. Those countries broke their currencies themselves with their unsustainable economic bubbles and irresponsible economic policies. Their currencies and economy was going to collapse eventually, Soros or no Soros. Soros just saw it coming earlier than anyone else and profited from it and all of sudden Soros is the cause of all evil.

Then again, you can't really expect much from bureaucrats.

Humility does not always work unless you don't need to deal with the real world.
DragonFire story is good example in a non-hostile scenario just tiny confrontations in our daily life which you can ignore because there is not too much harm in them, and yes you will feel better inside. Unfortunately nowadays respect and values are nosing down and humility might turn against you and your family. Don't get me wrong I am a peaceful senior but experience has taught me that most of the time the better you are the more the bad guys try to walk over you, a sad example is school bullish. So be humble in the proper place but get respect when it is needed.

Soros is no speculator! He knows exactly what he is doing. Taking money from the rich and giving to the poor is Socialistic. 80% of the people around the world who are on the dole (AKA Government Hand Outs) need to go to work doing something good for them selves and others. A little work never hurt anyone, in fact, it will build you up and give self worth and respect. If some one needs help, let you and I help, not the government. They can't run anything right and effeciently. They spend bored money on us to get our vote, to stay in power. I'll take a well run Corporation any day over a government run business. They produce something of value we can us or they go out of business. They live with in a budget and create worth while jobs. I'm never want to retire and live on the dole! Yes, Wall Street has some bad dudes, mainly in the Financial Sector. Money and greed seems to get in peoples way sometimes. I LOVE being free! I LOVE MY GOD given AGENCY. I LOVE AMERICA and I will fight to bring her back to the greatness she once was!

Odd, if you notice, the people who don't like Soros tend to be the policy makers that need policies - usually taking more money from their citizens to pay for the bad decisions they made... If Europe is facing a challenge of their making and Soros makes money out of their stupidity, it's perfectly fine with me. As for the Asian crisis, Soros did not create it, he just made money out of what the policies in Asia created. Nobody can really do anything about politicians "adjusting" the rules to suit their needs - recently the ECB and the euro-politicians decided that ECB will not be taking any losses on the Greek bonds, passing the losses to all the other investors, politicians nod approvingly to this change of the rules - If i had invested my family funds into "safe-guaranteed-by-the-European-government-bonds" i would face a loss decided by politicians and the ECB, Soros and others like him have the power to take advantage and make money out of politicians making unsound decisions and in the process penalizing their bad decisions. Perhaps economics and finance - when distorted by policy makers - is a great force for democracy regardless of what color the national flag is... As for my opinion of Soros, check his background, check what his father did to save kids and families and put yourself in the shoes of those saved by his father or helped by his foundation... I think you owe it to yourself to open your mind and decide whose interests are being served by the media pointing to Soros or anyone else who understands how to make money when economic fundamentals are perverted by greed of politicians. As for the Brazilian model affair, that is an issue between Soros, his family and God. Let him that has no sin cast the first stone... Peace

That's quite possibly the most insightful statement I've heard all day. I was a veteran trader in an Asian bank who got equally burned during the first big Asian crisis, and even I don't have a bad opinion about Soros...

He is entitled to his analysis as long as its backed up with facts the analysis is based on. While some of the reporting should be considered biased, Soros is his own worst enemy. The book is nothing more than his own lame attempt to write his own history, or obituary. When you meddle in a countries politics, you get what you deserve.

I would only be impressed by the amount of money he gave away if it was all he had. The way it stands, the only thing he has given away is pocket change, and he no doubt things he should be loved by all for that.

As for the song, I wouldn't stand with Soros if he gave me all his money to do it. I don't hate or dislike the man, but you have to feel sorry for someone who goes as far as he does to get respect; and yet he some how comes up empty.

Soros is no doubt among his own kind when dealing with these politicians and bankers, and it is possible they just don't like being out done by one of their own.

Soros is strictly a Capitalist, which has nothing to do with Democracy. Democracy allows individual liberties often undermined by people like Soros who exploit the system.

There are many institutions in the world doing a far better job then Soros does of helping victims without undermining governments. However, some of them are under attack by said Governments due to Religion. I don't know what his father did, but I truly doubt he has followed his father's example.

Soros loses any credibility for attempting to take any credit for the fall of the Soviet Union. This is nothing short of being delusional. The credit of the fall of The Soviet Union goes to Blessed Pope John Paul II, the Polish people, and the United States under President Ronald Reagan, and I would say in that order
