Dollar/Yen Vols Remain Steady, Yen Puts Sold
Dollar/yen options remained stable in Asia on Thursday, with some at-the-money options, as well as three- and six-month options being bought, said an options dealer at a major Japanese bank. At 0200 GMT, benchmark one-month at-the-money dollar/yen options were at 7.88%/8.32% from 7.86%/8.34% late Wednesday in New York. The dollar/yen spot rate was at Y78.39. The dealer said some interest in selling upside hedges could be observed, and one market participant sold a two-month dollar-call yen-put option at a strike price of Y81.00 with implied volatility of 9.10%.
