Trump-enabling senators have a lot of money riding on the stock market, and many of their home states' economies can be decimated by the reciprocal tariffs from Canada and Mexico. I'm looking forward to seeing what tune senators like John Thune will sing, once his constituents find themselves:

1. Unable to find anyone to work on their farms - migrant workers don't like coming to work if it means risking arrest by ICE
2. With their exports suddenly non-competitive, as Canada just made them 25% more expensive.

There's probably no point in shorting stock indices after the market opens, gaps have to be closed first, and China is also closed on Monday, look at the deep seek gap and see how everything has come back nicely, big players don't leave money for free. I will close short positions on indices after the market opens and wait for the gap to close, then I will enter short the DAX and the US indices.

but I will definitely not open long positions in indicies to close the gap, the risk is too great and no one knows.
the gap I will short usd/cad because I saw how strong the resistance is to further rise.

It’ll be an interesting week alright, a correction was overdue irrespective of the tariffs , the smart money front ran the curve into a distribution top imo , at least until December if you look at the cycles.

Risk off , I see escalation before de-escalation . It’s a leveraged power play , the short term leverage is with the US so Trump can stay the course for months , the US coffers are being filled which will subsidise the tax cuts . The markets fall won’t even be spoken about until the US economy starts to slow imo .

This assessment is just so wrong for several reasons. First, this will only help BRICS states because the west and the US is fighting themselves in trade wars. This will undermine the credibility of the USD as a save haven because it creates a lot of uncertainty. Second, it is just plain stupid to impose tariffs in a situation where inflation is still elevated and will most likely rebound. Third, he mentions to impose tariffs on everyone. Tariff threats only work if you target a single country and not everyone. The US will isolate itself and this will be bad for every country. Defending this guys action is just insane.

Nethertheless, I think the tariffs won't be imposed for too long since Trump assesses his policy action via the stock market. Time to buy risk on assets and EURUSD as long as it is cheap.

The West isn't in any Trade War with America those are just smoke screens of a petty tyrant with apparent psychological issues.....Tell the families of the 2 FAA related crashes that he should be in oval office!
