In December 2024, French consumer prices increase by 0.2% over one month and by 1.3% over one year
In December 2024, the consumer price index (CPI) increased by 0.2% over one month, after -0.1% in November. This increase in prices is explained by the seasonal rebound in air transport prices (+16.7% after -11.4%), which leads to an increase in the prices of services (+0.5% after -0.3%). Energy prices also increased over one month (+0.7% after +0.2%), particularly those of gas (+1.5% after -0.5%) and petroleum products (+1.0% after +0.5%).
