The average deposit say nothing about the real economy. Most americans live from paycheck to paycheck. If the fridge breaks down in between they have t eat canned food. That doesnt make a posterboy of an economy.
And yet we spent 13.3 billion online for cyber Monday and will spend about 250 billion total for the holiday season.

People that are renting get their fridges fixed by the landord. People that are homeowners that can afford a mortgage can likely afford to fix their fridge and/or have access to credit to fix it in a pinch. The idea that people would have to eat canned food is moronic at best but is more likely rooted in disdain for capitalism and the US in general.

Forget about the fridage comment. But you get the point dont you? The majority of americans live from paycheck to check and the minority is getting overwhelming much richer.
