US wholesale inventories down by 0.2% in September
Wholesale inventories in the United States declined by 0.2% in September compared to August's revised figures, and stood at $903.7 billion, the US Census Bureau report published on Thursday showed. Total inventories saw an increase of 0.3% compared to September 2023. The sales of merchant wholesalers adjusted for seasonal variations and trading-day differences but not for price changes amounted to $674.8 billion and were up by 0.3% on an annual level. The seasonally-adjusted inventory-to-sales ratio was 1.34, down slightly compared to the month prior when it stood at 1.35 and up from the September 2023 ratio of 1.33. ... (full story)
