US wholesale inventories up by 0.1% in August
Wholesale inventories in the United States rose by 0.1% in August compared to July's revised figures and reached $904.8 billion, according to the US Census Bureau report delivered on Wednesday. Inventories increased by 1.1% compared to August 2023. The sales of merchant wholesalers, adjusted for seasonal variations and trading-day differences but not for price changes, amounted to $670.9 billion in the same month, down by 0.1% month over month and up 1.1% year-over-year. According to seasonally adjusted data, the inventory-to-sales ratio was 1.35, unchanged from last month and a year earlier.
