In August 2024, French consumer prices increase by 0.5% over one month and by 1.8% over one year
In August 2024, the consumer price index (CPI) increased by 0.5% over one month, after +0.2% in July. This increase in prices is mainly explained by the rebound in the prices of manufactured products after the July sales (+1.4% after -2.3%), particularly clothing and footwear prices (+6.2% after -10.7%). Service prices also increased over one month (+0.5% after +1.2%), particularly accommodation prices (+7.2% after +12.6%). Food prices rebounded slightly over one month (+0.3% after -0.2%), while energy prices fell (-1.3% after +1.4%). Tobacco prices were stable over one month, as in the previous month. Seasonally ...
