German wholesale prices in July 2024: -0.1% on July 2023
In July 2024, the selling prices in wholesale trade were 0.1% lower than in July 2023. Compared with the same month a year earlier, the rate of change was -0.6% in June 2024, and -0.7% in May 2024. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that wholesale prices in July 2024 rose by 0.3% on June 2024.The main reason for the year-on-year decrease in wholesale prices (total) in July 2024 were lower prices in the wholesale of chemical products (-8.4%), which declined by 0.4% compared with June 2024.
