Germany: New orders in manufacturing in May 2024: -1.6% on the previous month
Real (price adjusted) new orders in manufacturing were down 1.6% in May 2024 month on month after seasonal and calendar adjustment, according to provisional figures of the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis). It was the fifth consecutive decline on the previous month. The three-month on three-month comparison showed that new orders were 6.2% lower in the period from March 2024 to May 2024 than in the previous three months, which was attributable in part to a large-scale order in December 2023.
