CPI for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) remained unchanged in May, indicating a stabilization in consumer prices following a moderate increase in April.

The energy index fell by 2.0% in May, with a significant 3.6% decrease in gasoline prices.

The index for food at home was unchanged in May, and the overall food index only rose by 0.1%, indicating weak growth in food prices.


The shelter index continued to grow, increasing by 0.4% in May, reflects rising living costs.

Other notable increases were Airline Fares up 4.0% and Used Cars and Trucks up by 0.6%.

I will sell GU around 1.293 if I see other get that idea as well. But indeed soft data coming out. It rhymes with the soft data (except from NFP) we have seen lately. Maybe cuts are back on the table.

There will not be any rate cut in the U.S this year. Energy prices are continued to be manipulated by the Biden administration, so he has something to claim for at the presidential debate. The underlying issue hasn't been addressed. This is all window dressing for the Dem before the election. Trump is more likely to win unless Biden stole it again (they had a working recipe, so more likely Biden might win again). If Trump wins then he'll cut rate fast and furious, so the FED is on hold regardless of what the economic data is saying because Trump is a wild card.

Either Nat gas has not feed thru Utility piped gas or something fishy going on with the decline utility gas cpi number.

Although reported as 0.2%, on a two-decimal basis, core CPI m/m rose 0.16%.

The U.S FED and the BOJ right now are FX traders. They know their words move the market in whichever the direction they want, so they're buying time using their words, running out the clock and waiting for the inflation number to sort its way out. Inflation is not something that you can fix by just flipping the interest rate switch. Things take time in the real world, because the real world is running on greed and fear

USA will try to keep the rates high for as long as possible. They know that higher interest rates means that people will park money in the USD. This in essence saves their relevance as the reserve currency. I expect to hear strong comments from Powell. Even the President just said the prices are still too high, which means puppet Powell will follow what he says.

From the beginning of April to the beginning of June oil prices fell roughly 17% so naturally that reduction has filtered through the system temporarily taming inflation. However, oil prices have rebounded a bit lately. School is out and summertime travel is on the rise. OPEC is smart and will continue to punish the markets with supply cuts highlighting the moronic energy policy by the idiots in office in the US.

We already have massive inflation that's baked into prices from the orgy of government PLANdemic spending. Going forward, the rate of inflation my be slowing, but it's not going anywhere for now.

Unfortunately, I live in Nevada which used to be very inexpensive to live. Now, with mass illegal immigration and a massive exodus of commie Californians moving in, housing/rent prices have skyrocketed. Last month alone, the median house price increased by a whopping $22,000. That's 4% in one month. Amazing considering the 30 year is at 7.16%. Gasoline at $5/gallon.

What we are suffering today is an accumulation of years of abuse started with Clinton. He was the one that sold the U.S out to China, lifted the trade embargo in Vietnam and made all the company move their productions over to China and Vietnam via bad business tax policies (go after the rich, corporate...). That was 8 years, then Obummer hammered it for another 8 years, now we got a retard in there for another 4 years. This is not about left vs. right, it's about the fact. Looking back at history (Italy, Germany, Spain, Greece...) those countries were once the dominance force around the world, but do you see anything made over there anymore? The answer is NO. Look at China before Clinton took office, Shenzhen was a farmland that no one wanted to live there, now it's the world largest production of consumer electronics. The U.S practically build China since Clinton and now China became the world super power and trust me you don't want to live under that umbrella, but it's too late now.

No country in the world can become a great nation by being a consumer nation. Just like at household level, you can't become rich by spending. That's why Trump wants all the manufacturing to come back to the U.S or face heavy taxation. Not sure how long the U.S can hold on to its power via the dollar since half of the world is trading using the Yuan now, it's just a matter of time and I think it's moving with a faster pace now.

Converting assets to Gold or Crypto might be the way to go forward, but I'm leaning toward crypto since its utilities are amazing. I know people trash talk crypto, but I think those people haven't used it enough to see the benefits... Don't trash it until you use it . I transfer millions oversea for business, in the past it was almost impossible to transfer that much without the bank/government sticking their noses into your business and it took nearly a month to transfer.... now, with crypto 5 to 10 min
