German import prices in April 2024: -1.7% on April 2023
Import prices were 1.7% lower in April 2024 compared with April 2023. The year-on-year rate of change was -3.6% in March 2024, and -4.9% in February 2024. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that import prices in April 2024 rose by 0.7% on March 2024. Export prices in April 2024 were 0.2% lower than in April 2023. The year-on-year rate of change was -1.0% in March 2024, and -1.1% in February 2024. Compared with March 2024, export prices were up 0.4% in April 2024.
