New orders in manufacturing in March 2024: -0.4% on the previous month

Real (price adjusted) new orders in manufacturing were down 0.4% in March 2024 month on month after seasonal and calendar adjustment, according to provisional figures of the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis). The less volatile three-month on three-month comparison showed that new orders were 4.3% lower in the period from January to March 2024 than in the previous three months. When large-scale orders are excluded, new orders in March 2024 were 0.1% higher than in February 2024.
