    Mark Matthews, head of Asia research at Julius Baer, explains why he sees three interest rate cuts by the Federal Reserve this year.
Highly unlikely in my opinion. If you look at the inflation cycle around major conflicts in the the world you will see that inflation tends to rise in periods where conflicts occur. As the ongoing battle in Ukraine is currently in play and there seems to be no one pushing for peace, I would expect this to eventually spill into the surrounding countries. I expect the conflict to weigh strongly on the markets when they realise there will be no rate cuts.
The major conflict, concerning currency, is in the huge carry trade that happened between JPY, USD and CNY, which recent popped (with the real estate bubble burst in China) and is unwinding fast.

Least we not forget, Western economies are war machines, as war rages, production rises, alongside the job creation splurge in tech for US... hence the surprising strength in US job rates.

... ergo, rate cuts as July highly likely, as global economies can no longer profit off US high interest. And the trade off for high yield T-Bills can not last forever!

    A couple of quick moves and the pair is dragged back down on the day: chart USD/JPY 1-minute chart. I had a whole post lined up about how Tokyo had every reason to step in but they didn't earlier.
