    Prices of products manufactured in Canada, as measured by the Industrial Product Price Index (IPPI), edged down 0.1% month over month in January and were 2.9% lower than in January 2023. Prices of raw materials purchased by manufacturers operating in Canada, as measured by the Raw Materials Price Index (RMPI), increased 1.2% on a monthly basis in January 2024 and decreased 6.4% year over year. The IPPI edged down 0.1% month over month in January, the fourth consecutive monthly decline.
