Exports in December 2023: -4.6% on November 2023
In December 2023, German exports were down 4.6% and imports dropped 6.7% on a calendar and seasonally adjusted basis compared with November 2023. Based on provisional data, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) further reports that exports also decreased by 4.6% from December 2022 and imports fell by 12.4%. Exports were down 1.4% in 2023 compared with 2022 after calendar and seasonal adjustment, while imports to Germany experienced a much sharper decline of 9.7%.
