Unfortunately regulators dont have much of a choice no matter how unfair. The damage is done and they HAVE to insure ALL depositors because the US banking systems control EVERY ONES lives. If it were to collapse the world would be in shambles. I expect they'll come up with some new regulations in the future, but for now they MUST stop the carnage, before it spirals out of control. FEAR is the most powerful emotional influence for our markets/society.

Dodd Frank started a lot of this way back, the measures they implemented haven't worked, woke bank managers and an idiot fed. Inflation was transitory. Right? Turn off the printing machines and cut spending.
