Whether it's true or not, no one wants to be on the wrong side late on Friday (if you're east of the Atlantic) so closing out positions is enough to create a panic-weighted surge.
Market should go back to todays trend when people notice that there is an if in the statement. "But they won’t want to dramatically loosen financial conditions if and when they hike by 50 bps (instead of 75)."
why and how dramatic loosening of financial conditions ....

if the US economic growth goes into recession at this time it will have a very big impact on the economic bankruptcy of countries globally (60 countries are candidates for bankruptcy in 2023 according to the IMF and the world bank, 14 countries are already in dialogue with the IMF)

Again guys - take my advice: Hedge instead of using stop loss. Simply place a Sellstop of a Buystop at the price or pips distance where you usually place your SL. This will activate a hedge instead of triggering your SL.

SL means the money is gone. Sell/Buy stop means the money is still in your account balance and you can work out your hedges to recover the minus between them.

This approach is extremely convenient in case like this one.

How do you handle it? have a hedge from last year and can't get rid of it.

Look hedging is not easy. Placing SL is easier and in many cases the money is gone and there is no way back.
Hedging is complicated but that’s how you keep the money in your balance. The thing is that you need to seriously study and learn how to solve your hedges in profit. I am not using hedging myself but I will look into it. I see the point.

So true, so true. There really is no substitute for prolonged, focused analysis and trial-and-error or Kaizen. The notion of there being a quick solution is mythological.

I do something different: it started with the theory that the way to maximise profit is, like the MM's, to be in the market all the time. Read them and the signs of change, using Technical Analysis, and flip the trade direction accordingly. It's not quite hedging but it requires taking a different mental approach above all else.

It's supported by a self-developed algorithm which has been developed from a start point nearly 15 years ago. The algorithm will not go on sale, as secrecy is power.

Yes absolutely. Changing direction as soon as trend chande indications are confirmed, is a must. And if hedging is part of the trading style, the earlier one places a hedge, the better (but again you need to have a trend change confirmation). If the hedge comes in a comfortable profit, you should secure it with a BE and place a scale. This is where you begin to melt the minus between your hedges until you get in a total profit. This is just one of the approaches to solve hedges.

I fully understand your decision not to sell your product. This is your baby. I use self developed system of one EA and 5 Indicators. After two years of developing it begins to take a shape and it takes me through both choppy/ranging and trending markets. I will never sell this baby.

And yes - one way to maximize profits is to stay in the market as long as possible and one of the ways to do it is to hedge your losing positions.

We have a very similar approach, clearly.

Secrecy is not so much about it being one's "baby" as the need for unique specificity, the need to be a few steps ahead of counter-measures or to avoid flooding the market, which would result in dilution of its effectiveness. It operates on minute (time) periods for the most liquid instruments, longer periods for the less liquid: be as close to the action as the accumulated 'significant' functional data-points will allow.
