LEI for the United Kingdom Continued to Decline in August
The Conference Board Leading Economic Index®(LEI) for the United Kingdom declined by 0.5 percent in August to 80.7 (2016=100), following a 0.6 percent decline in July. The LEI contracted by 2.8 in the six-month period ending in August 2022, a reversal from growth of 1.7 percent over the previous six months. The Conference Board Coincident Economic Index® (CEI) for the United Kingdom ticked down by 0.1 percent in August to 103.7 (2016=100), after remaining unchanged in July.
